I've recently moved to Spokane, and the summer heat is blistering compared to Seattle (freezing compared to Phoenix). In response to this I've set out on bike rides earlier in the day to avoid the heat. I went on a nice 14 miler, 1250ft elevation gain from the south hill, across Latah valley and back up Cedar st. It's a lot of climbing for large frame (fat body). White rd is steep.
Also, the government sent me a $200 check for a non-cashed tax return check from 2009. I had no idea about this. Luckily I'm not an accountant or I would obviously be out of work. So that money is going into the bike fund.

Getting back into it
I've been away from posting for awhile. But now I'm back. I just downloaded a very sweet calorie counter from the app market called myfitnesspal. It's great. It lets met look up food, or scan barcodes of food, and it knows the nutrition facts about everything. My droid x is now being used significantly more than it was previously. Since counting calories, I've lost a considerable amount of weight. 9 pounds in 5 days of use. Here's to keeping the weight loss rolling.
This morning my buddy Mike and I dusted off the road bike and made a nice loop from green lake, up past Shilshole bay, down through Fremont and back home. It was a grind and my biking muscles are feeling tired tonight.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna watch the Seahawks get destroyed by the Chicago Bears...1 pm ET, 10 AM pacific time...Sheesh that's early for a football game.
